Fats Consumption – Gateway to Good Health.

Adding good fats to our diet helps in improving blood cholesterol levels, lowers heart disease risk and control insulin levels. They must be an essential part of our diet. For so many years use of fats was being restricted. Although it was tradition to use fats like ghee and vegetable fats in Indian diets.

Restricting fats in our diets has not made us healthier, as with harmful fats, we ignored the use of healthy fats also.

Fats are:-

  • They help in the absorption of vitamins and minerals,
  • They help in the building of the cell membrane.
  • They are essential for the clotting of blood,

  • They help in fighting inflammation.

Good Fats include monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.

Since time immemorial, the main source of fat in Indian diet is ghee. which is now being considered as a superfood due to many health benefits as:-

  • It is rich source of antioxidants,
  • It reduces exposure to cancer-causing agents,
  • It moisturises skin and hair,
  • It has anti-inflammatory properties,
  • It contains heart-healthy fats.
  • It contains fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. These are essential for a wide range of body functions from the brain to the immune system.
